For years farmers have asked for a grain drill that will
meter seed as precisely as a planter... and singulate seeds!
Conventional mechanical grain drill metering devices can't
singulate seeds and can damage fragile seed coats... reducing
germination. Recently Krause Corporation has changed all that
with the introduction of the new 5500 Series PRO-AIR No-Till
drills!
Krause 5500 Series PRO-AIR drills feature a revolutionary
vacuum metering system that provides singulation of soybeans,
small edible beans, peas, sunflowers, grain sorghum... even
corn! It's the most accurate grain drill metering system
ever developed. Seeds gravity flow from the grain tank into
the individual vacuum metering units, where vacuum pressure
holds individual seeds firmly in place until the disc approaches
the drop tube. Four seed discs are provided for each unit
and include a disc for soybeans, corn, grain sorghum and small
grains. (The small grain disc meters by volume.) Changing
seed discs takes approximately one-half hour on a 15 foot
drill. |

The 5500's unique ability to handle larger
seeds like corn give it amazing flexibility in your operation.
Since the 5500 is available in 7 1/2" or 10" row
spacing, several row spacing choices can be made simply by
blocking off openers. Increasing trends towards narrow row
corn hybrids (15" - 20" for example) make the 5500
Series a convenient solution to your changing planting needs.
The 5500 PRO-AIR drills vacuum metering system eliminates
adjusting seed gates or flutes for different size seeds as
required by a conventional drill. The PRO-AIR makes changing
seeding rates quick and easy with a 25 speed gearbox drive.
