The most effective weapon
you can own in your spring tillage arsenal
is the Krause 6300 Landstar one-pass tillage system. |

 |
When time
and weather are managing you, the Landstar comes through with
a well prepared, thoroughly tilled, level seedbed. . . in one
pass, saving you critical planting hours! Available in five
sizes ranging from 18 ft. to 31 1/2 ft. working widths, the
Landstar is revolutionizing one-pass tillage practices. Designed
to handle high residue fields, including unworked cornstalks,
the Landstar is ideal for conservation compliance. High performance
features like the XT 270 shanks (270 lb. point load) and Landstar
incorporator wheels deliver a level of seedbed preparation excellence
that is unmatched by any other on-pass tool. |
XT 270 spring reset shanks boast a 270 lb. point load
to outperform any field cultivator shank in tough conditions.
Edge formed from 3/4" steel, XT 270's are equipped with
12" sweeps to thoroughly undercut weeds, lift and loosen
soil. A 10" trip height provides excellent rock protection.
26" underframe clearance means plenty of room for residue. |
On units with combination shanks, the ultra-rugged 2-Piece K-Tine
field cultivator shanks follow one row of XT 270's With
a point loading of 180 lbs. measured at average working depth,
the 2-Piece K-Tine excels in conservation tillage situations.
If serviceability and long life are someting you look for in
a tillage tool, you'll be impressed with the 2-Piece K-Tines
massive 1/2" x 3" upper leaf spring and 5/8"
thick edge formed lower shank. This rugged combination is recommended
for all conditions with the exception of extremly rocky
soils. You'll appreciate the fact there are no expensive
pivot mechanisms, bushings or pins to wear out! |
 |
Ductile cast iron Landstar incorporator wheels are
16" diameter for optimum soil churning action at the unit
operation speed of 5 1/2 to 7 mph. Each pair of the
concave shaped, cupped tooth wheels, are mounted independently
on a spring loaded arm to closely follow field contour. Wheels
are spaced 10 1/2" apart and the 25 degree angled mounting
provides aggressive soil residue mixing action. Maintaining
or even increasing residue levels is possible in many situations
with the Landstar. |

|
| Landstar.
. . a 4 part tillage system combined in one efficient pass. |
 |
In the first part of the Landstar system the disc gangs perform the vital
function of slicing and sizing residue, and begin the soil mixing process.
Landstar discs are 20" diameter on 9 1/8" spacing for added performance
in tough conditions. The extra-low 1 5/16" concavity discs
and shallow 8 degree gang angle provide beneficial tillage and leveling
action that machines with coulters up front can't match. The unit
shown features optional hydraulic adjustable gangs. Gangs are adjustable
from 2" below to 5" above the cultivator sweeps. |
 |
In the second part of the Landstar system aggressive tillage is
performed by the shanks up to 6" below the soil surface. The
Landstar relies on 6 ranks of well spaced shanks (none closer than 36"
on same beam) to do an outstanding job of breaking up tough soils and undercutting
weeds. With a 270 lb. point load, Krause's exclusive XT 270 shanks are a
vital part of this system. XT 270's can equip all six shank beams or order
the Landstar with combination shanks, comprised of one row of XT 270 behind
the disc gang, followed by five rows of heavy-duty 2-Piece K-Tines. |
 |
In the vital third phase of the Landstar system ductile cast iron
incorporator wheels perform the important functions of crumbling, mixing,
leveling and recovering residue. The concave design of the Landstar
wheels and curved tooth shape combine to mix and blend soil and residue,
thoroughly incorporating fertilizers and herbicides. In addition, the aggressive
action of the Landstar wheels crumbles clods and shakes soil loose from
weeds and rootballs like no other tillage machine! Each Landstar incorporator
wheel is mounted and turns independently to prevent residue from wrapping...a
common problem on gang mounted attachments like treaders. |
 |
In the fourth or "finishing" stage, your choice of several attachments
puts the final touch on your one-pass seedbed. The huge advantage
the Landstar system has over other finishers is that after the soil settles
from the Landstar incorporator wheel action, it is virtually level!
Thus the rear finishing attachment, working in a pre-leveled environment,
easily performs the final stirring, incorporating and seedbed finishing
action. The reel attachment provides crumbling and firming action without
the need for an additional "pull behind" reel type implement. |
|
|
| Single location remote depth control, conveniently located
at the front of the unit, makes it easy to fine tune depth adjustments.
| Top mounted rocker system evenly distributes frame forces to reduce frame
stress. Convenient, positive eye-bolt wing leveling adjustments make fine-tuned
leveling easy, Walking beam tandem wheels smooth fs out rough fields for
consistent operating depth.
|
 |
The 6300's A-frame hitch design allows for short turns without tire interference.
The hitch is self-leveling with a turnbuckle adjustment for fine tuning
fore-aft leveling. |
